Greater Chicago Soap Box Derby All American WIN-ter Indoor race. March 15 & 16 2025

Details: There will be 4 races held on the weekend, two races on Saturday and two on Sunday, a double and a single each day. Please plan on arriving Friday after 3pm to unload your car, set up your pit area, check in, have your car inspected, and pre- weigh-in.

Divisions: We will be running the 3 core divisions, stock, superstock, and masters. If you have a Legacy, round bottom or a novice driver contact Devin Smith 815-529-1060.

Location: DuPage County Fairgrounds 2015, Building 1, Manchester Road, Wheaton, IL.

Check in time: Doors open at 7am. Saturday and Sunday check in time is 7:30am. Please look over the race day schedule.

Spectators: Racing starts around 9am and we are generally finished racing by 3pm. No charge for spectators.

You’re welcome to bring a lawn chair as there is no seating.
 
If you have kids that are at least seven years old they are welcome to take a test run down the track in one of our cars! Just let someone know you’re interested in doing that.
Please no skies, scooters, etc or balls are allowed in the building
There is trailer parking outside the building only, no trailers are allowed in the race and pit area. There is a chance for indoor trailer parking and covered trailer parking. We cannot reserve spots and they will only become available Friday March 14. There are overhead doors and double doors to enter through.
There is a small kitchen available to use and indoor bathrooms.

Race Fees and Pre-Registration:

  • Pre-register by Tuesday March 11 and pay $120 for 1st racer, $110 for 2nd racer, $100 for 3rd racer. Payment deadline cut off is Tuesday before the race weekend
  • Pay the day of the race or less than 4 races and pay $35 for each race
  • New 1st time Chicago area racers pay $10 for each race.
  • Groupon discounts are only accepted for 1st time racers from the Chicago area who compete in the Chicago Local

There are no additional discounted race fees for the indoor races.

Online registration is not available          Do not email your registration.

To pre-register send in your race fees. please indicate the drivers name, rally ID and division. Paperwork can be filled out when you arrive.

Request for refunds must be submitted before the end of the race weekend or the 1st Tuesday of the folloing month. Request for refunds can be sent via email.

ADDITIONAL RACE DAY INFO

  • AA rules apply
  • 15 lb. max nose or tail weight stock and superstock, 5lb max for masters cars.
  • No lubrication of any kind will be allowed indoors or outdoors on the property. Anyone caught lubing or juicing their wheels will have their wheels removed from the race and possibly disqualified. Wheels will be replaced with a set of club wheels. Please take your wheels back to your hotel if you wish to clean or lube them.
  • No skates, scooters, rollerblading, or skateboards etc, balls, frisbees etc will be allowed inside.
  • All cars will be required to have a new brake pad.

  • Tools will only be allowed in the designated pit area.
  • All cars will be inspected prior to the race and randomly throughout the day.
  • Any and all repairs MUST be done in the pit area with the approval of a race official.
  • Once the car has been inspected and weighed, it is NOT to return to the pit area unless directed by a race official, or only if, that car is no longer racing.
  • Cars that ARE still racing must remain in pre-staging area while they continue to race.
  • No flash photography allowed at the finish line.
  • All cars will be required to adhere to current AA Soap Box Derby construction.
  • All cars will be inspected, make sure your car complies with current rules.
  • Please look over the Race Day Schedule.
  • Friday car drop off after 3pm.
