Greater Chicago Soap Box Derby All American Local race, June 6, 2026

Boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 20 will be competing in gravity powered soap box derby cars. Chicago will feature the 3 core divisions, Stock, Superstock, and Masters. Winner in each division will qualify to compete in Akron, Ohio at the World Championship race.

Event Details:
• Date: June 6, 2026
• Location: Naperville, Illinois 
​• Arrive by 8am, racing at 9am, racing over as early as 1pm
• Price $50 (Payment can be sent with Venmo @GCSBD)
• Cars available to borrow
• Winner qualifies for the Soap Box Derby World Championship

New to soap box derby racing? Let us know you are coming and your child can use 1 of our cars to race for the day or the weekend. There is no charge to use the car. Not ready to start racing right away, stop by and take a test run to see what soap box derby racing is like. Contact us if you would like to borrow a car for the day and compete with other kids for a trophy.

Groupon coupons are only for new first time Chicago Local racers that do not have a rally ID assigned to their name.

for inspection, weigh in, practice runs, driver and group photo
8:45 Drivers meeting and opening announcements
9:00 GCSBD racers begin racing
2:00 Top four race off 1st– 4th places all divisions
3:00 Conclusion of Chicago local race
4:00 Awards ceremony Location to be announced
